Pet Crossing relies on several groups of people to provide your pet with the highest quality health care. Our staff includes certified veterinary technicians, client services representatives, veterinary assistants, volunteers and a group of developmentally disabled adults who help keep the hospital clean and well stocked.
The certified veterinary technicians (CVTs) all have degrees in veterinary technology and have passed a rigorous certification examination. CVTs are responsible for providing nursing care. They are qualified to draw blood, place IVs, perform anesthesia, give injections and perform a large number of other medical assignments. They are also a great source of medical information about your pet. They will frequently be the people you speak to when you have questions regarding your pet's care.
Our client service representatives are usually both the first and last people you talk to when you are at our facility. They are a multitalented group who can make appointments for your pet, help you find information resources and answer many questions themselves.
Our assistants are all students planning on a career in the veterinary field. They include college students, veterinary technician students and students pursuing the doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) degree.
We have several volunteers who are here to make our patients’ experiences as pleasant as possible. Our volunteers take dogs for walks, play with the cats and cuddle pets as they are waking up from anesthesia.
One of our volunteers has four legs and is named Walter. He is the official Pet Crossing greeter and also believes that he owns the place. We humor him in this belief because he’s so cute.
Finally, we have a group of developmentally disabled adults, who along with their job coach, help us keep the hospital running by cleaning, doing laundry and generally making everyone’s lives a little easier. They are dedicated, hard working and always have a smile for pets and their people.
